The Castellows are a reflection of women in the mainstream of the country who are struggling against a glass ceiling.  

A trio of platinum blonde sisters hailing from the remote banks of the Chattahoochee River in Southwest Georgia are seated in a recording studio at the Warner Music Nashville headquarters.  

They are clutching banjos and guitars and laughing as they do so.  

When they perform blood harmonies as The Castelows, Ellie, Lily, and Powell Balkcom take on the name of their family.

Investigates whether or not they have a way ahead in a genre that is having difficulty incorporating women in large numbers.  

Once upon a time, the Castelows would have been primed for a direct and unrestricted path to country music glory due to their infectious smiles and diverse musicality,   

which was steeped in the singer-songwriters of the 1970s and classic rock.  

There are some watchers of the Nashville industry who have expressed concern regarding the presentation because it appears to be "too good to be true."
